Natural reproduction requires that our reproductive apparatus be free of anatomical and functional impairments. There are many situations that alter this apparatus, such as fibroids, hydrosalpinx, polyps, uterine malformations, etc., but it is possible to allow our reproductive system work properly again with a surgical treatment.

Successful reproductive surgery restores the functioning of an organ that had become disabled due to various pathologies. This requires diagnostic strategy, surgical dexterity, expertise in surgical decision-making, mastery and finesse in handling the tissues. But experience is also needed to be well-versed in the appropriate treatments that aid in restoring the proper functioning of the organs causing the infertility. Restoring fertility through surgery requires a care properly tailored to the individual in order to address very complex reproductive pathologies such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids and adhesions to make a successful pregnancy possible. In this respect, at Juana Crespo Clinic we have the best team of reproductive surgeons whose focus is eliminating and correcting these conditions so that fertility is restored, and natural pregnancy becomes possible.

Surgery not only enables us to restore a woman’s fertility: it also helps improve the results of assisted-reproduction treatments, because many of these pathologies are responsible for difficulties with conception. Some of them, such as uterine pathologies like fibroids, adenomyosis, fibrosis, hydrosalpinx, etc., prevent implantation of quality embryos or cause them to abort very early on. Most cases of recurrent and refractory implantation failure have their origin in an unknown and/or underestimated uterine factor. Diagnosing these conditions using all available technology such as MRIs, hysteroscopies, Doppler and VOCAL systems and 3D or 4D ultrasound, is one of our specialties, and providing treatment for them is our differential value.

This is a technique that makes it possible to diagnose and treat certain lesions, such as abnormal bleeding, uterine diseases, causes of miscarriage, polyps, fibroids, and other conditions that interfere with embryo implantation. It consists of inserting a thin tube called the hysteroscope through the interior of the cervix. This tube is equipped with a camera and can send images displaying the inside of the uterus to check whether there is any sort of abnormality.
Laparoscopy enables us to examine problems in the abdomen or in a woman’s reproductive apparatus. It entails a small incision in the abdominal wall, into which thin tubes (laparoscopes) are inserted, which are connected to a camera that sends images to a monitor or screen. It is a minimally invasive surgery, and the patient recovers very rapidly with less pain than after an open or conventional surgery. This technique can treat adhesions, fibroids, hydrosalpinx (an alteration in which one or both of a woman’s Fallopian tubes are blocked or dilated due to an accumulation of liquid in their interior, making it impossible for the sperm cell and the ovum to meet).
This is a technique usually used in more complex cases when it is not possible to use less invasive techniques such as laparoscopy. Some of these cases could be severe endometriosis, fibroids, or abnormalities of the uterus. Nevertheless, we will always do everything possible to treat your problem in the least invasive way, and we will handle your case as humanely and transparently as possible with care adapted to the individual circumstances.

Restoring fertility with the greatest guarantees

Restoring fertility with the greatest guarantees

At our Assisted-Reproduction Clinic, we have a hospitalization area with two operating rooms equipped with the state-of-the-art technology necessary to carry out all types of reproductive surgery to restore your fertility. Laparoscopies and hysteroscopies are conducted in the morning, and the patients remain in the rooms of our clinic for several hours under the supervision of physicians and nurses from our staff. Once their perfect state of health has been verified, they are discharged the same day. When the period indicated by the surgeon has elapsed, the patient will attend an appointment for a post-surgical exam, in which the surgeon will grant approval to begin to try to conceive naturally or with assistance, depending on the pathologies involved. Our surgical staff is specialized in remedying complex pathologies with invasive surgeries (laparatomies), which require hospital stays due to the approach required and the complexity. All of this so that you can fulfill your wish to become a mother.
